한국에서 영국인 시민권자와 혼인신고 절차 
MARRIAGE PROCEDURES IN KOREA FOR BRITISH NATIONALS

영국인 시민권자는 1960년 민법 812조에 따라 한국인과 혼인신고를 할 수 있습니다. 결혼 당사자들은 해당 구청 또는 동사무소(면사무소)와 영국대사관에 필요한 구비서류를 제출함으로써 혼인신고를 할 수 있습니다.  종교적 결혼식은 법적 혼인을 성립하지 아니하므로 아래의 구비서류들을 구비하시어 한국법에 따라 혼인신고를 하십시오. 호주제 폐지로 아래의 서류들이 구호적을 대신합니다.
British nationals are able to go through a civil marriage under article 812 of the Korean Civil Code of 1960. Both parties register with the local authorities and the Embassy notarises the necessary documents. A religious ceremony does not constitute a legal marriage, unless a civil marriage has also take place. The documents listed below are required by the Korean government, as you will be married under the laws of Korea. These documents essentially replace the Family Census Registry that a Korean citizen presents when s/he wants to get married.

영국인 배우자의 국적 증빙 서류 (예, 여권). 
한국인 배우자의 국적 증빙서류는 ;  
가족관계 증명서 영문 번역공증 1부 
혼인관계 증명서 영문 번역공증 1부 
주민등록증 
전 혼인관계가 있었던 경우에는 이혼판결문 또는 제적등본   
만 20세 이하의 미성년일 경우 부모의 혼인 동의서
만일 영국인 시민권자가 전에 혼인했었을 경우, 원본대조필이 찍힌 이혼 판결문 공증본 또는 원본을 제출하십시오. 
Proof of citizenship for the British party (e.g. a passport). 
If one of the parties is Korean;  
Family Relationship Certificate (Gajok Gwangae;가족관계 증명서): 1 Copy in Korean and 1 notarised English translation 
Marriage/Single Status Certificate (Hone In Gwangae;혼인관계 증명서): 1 Copy in Korean and 1 notarised English translation 
Valid Korean identification card (Jumin Deungnok Jeung; 주민등록증) and name stamp. 
Proof of termination of any prior marriage(s) 
If the British party has been married previously, an original or notarised copy of the Decree Absolute. 

수속 절차

먼저 영국 대사관의 혼인요건구비증명서(the Affidavit of Eligibility for Marriage  (DOC)  와 혼인신고서(Report and Certificate of Marriage  (DOC, 24.0K))를 작성하십시오.   
작성된 신청서를 구비서류들과 함께 영국 대사관 영사과에 제출하고 영사 앞에서 혼인선서를 시행합니다. 혼인신고 전에 미리 예약을 하셔야 합니다. 
혼인선서 후 대사관에서 인증을 받은 혼인요건구비증명서와 혼인신고서를 해당 구청이나 동사무소(면사무소)에 제출합니다. 그러면 구청에서 수입인지를 붙여 혼인신고를 접수합니다. 이때 영문  혼인요건구비증명서는 한글로 번역한 후 번역사의 도장날인을 받아 제출합니다.  이때 구청에 따라 공증이 필요한 곳이 있을 수 있습니다. 종로구청에 신고할 때에는 저희 뉴욕번역사의 도장날인만 있으면 됩니다.   
그런 후 다시 구청의 도장 날인을 받은 혼인신고서를 다시 영국대사관에 제출합니다. 
그러면 양국에 모든 혼인신고를 끝나게 됩니다. 
Obtain three blank copies of the Affidavit of Eligibility for Marriage  (DOC)  and Report and Certificate of Marriage  (DOC, 24.0K) Bring the completed forms, with the documentation to the Consular Section of the Embassy.   The British party will be required to swear on oath. An appointment is necessary. 
Next, take the documents to the Korean authorities.   Local regulations stipulate that these should be submitted personally to the Ward Census Office (WCO) where the Korean party's records are filed.   However, some ward offices in Seoul, such as Jong Ro-Gu, will accept documents on behalf of others.   If neither party is Korean, any WCO may be used, details of which can be provided by the Embassy.  The WCO requires applicants to complete and sign Affidavit forms in Hangul (Korean) which are then stamped. The Mayor's signature is then put on the form. 

Once the above is done, bring the "Report and Certificate of Marriage  (DOC, 24.0K)" back to the Embassy for notarisation of the Mayor's signature. One copy of the form will be retained by the Embassy.
